A Little Bit About Me...
I'm a Wedding & Event Florist, an Artist, a Traveller, an Aquarian,
a Mum, a Wife and the owner of two gorgeous Birman Cats...
Who spend a LOT of time sleeping.....
I live in Sudbury, Suffolk and have two Lovely Studios in my Garden where I do all my Artwork and Floristry.
I have a hard working Husband who often gets roped in to help with events but who refuses to wear a Pinny... Ditto my Teenage Son....
We built the First studio in 2008 and the Second in 2016 ~ I just Love them! They're all made to measure to fit me ( I'm not very tall ha! ) and they're bright and sunny in the Summer and warm and snuggly in the Winter x
I love to bring a Natural, Organic feel to my flower designs and I often use Herbs & Clematis Tendrils, Ivy Trails & Crab Apple & Beech Branches from the Garden. I have a lovely soft foliage plant called Thalictrum which has the most beautiful, delicate leaves which look just gorgeous in Buttonholes & Corsages... Here's a picture of a little Lady's Buttonhole which I've used it in x
I take a lot of my own photos! When I've finished ( or think I've finished ) a Bouquet or Arrangement or whatever I'll look at it through the camera ~ and this then gives me a whole new visual of what I've just created. And then I see what I need to tweak and change and re-balance ~ happens every time... And I've got a 'thing' about Vendela Rose & Calla Buttonholes, don't ask me why, I just love the outline, petal shapes, shadows, structure ~ you name it, I love it ~ and I take LOADS of photos of them! And I love them in Black & White too..
Oh and I always send my Brides copies of any of my favourite ones that have come out really well x
Here's a Question I've been asked a couple of times when having a First Consultation with a Bride.. "Why should I choose you to do my Flowers?"
Well... I totally love what I do and the most important thing for me is to get everything just right for people, to make sure that the flowers they see on the day are exactly what they wanted and, if possible, even better than they expected. Every wedding is special, every person is special and has their own particular ideas that I need to help them bring to life. I've developed a design process that lets me give people the benefit of my knowledge whilst still allowing them massive input into how their flowers will look. I send ideas and images and drawings and sketches to my clients in pdf format ~ sometimes people live a distance away or even abroad ~ and I'll always see people as often as they need to see me. It's important.
And I like to make people Happy.
And I'm a bit of a Perfectionist.
And I love what I do ~ did I mention that?
